The ceiling sags. [The building is probably older than any building I have been in in the States.] The walls have pictures, mostly of women. Some nude, some old pictures. Two older ladies are cleaning up in the back as I am the only customer. [I theorize that they are an old lesbian couple.] They take their leave after eatting some salads to sit at the table just outside and next to the door to smoke and continue their conversation. All I can see of them is through the door one of their hands hanging down with a cigarette. The radio anouncer says something in Fr...

Dandelion Junk Queens - O'Buddy

I was woken up the other night by Dan drunkenly arguing with his friend about stupid drunken stuff, but on the upside I found that from the Dandelion Junk Queen’s website it is possible to tediously download three of their albums for free. Can’t go wrong with junk punk from Bellingham, Washington.

Gary Jules - Mad World

http://assets.tumblr.com/swf/audio_player.swf?audio_file=http://www.tumblr.com/audio_file/382875614/tumblr_kxnnhx8ygF1qa6icr&color=FFFFFF This song came up randomly on Pandora today. I’m loving the feeling behind the song. I should probably keep away from finding more beautifully depressing music… I get so tired of being told that one of my least redeeming qualities is that I am depressing. I like to think of myself as a realist, but in how dark this world is I guess that can be misconstrued as depressing. /Insert rant/.

Billy Bragg - 05 A New England.mp3

It’s hard leaving that place. Sure there were times I got frustrated with it, but it’s still the closest thing to a home that I felt proper in calling a home for a long while.

Sophie Tucker - Some Of These Days

http://assets.tumblr.com/swf/audio_player.swf?audio_file=http://www.tumblr.com/audio_file/274397751/tumblr_kubpaxdxGU1qa6icr&color=FFFFFF I would have to say that this song has reached public domain, being from 1911 and all… I finished reading Nausea by Sartre the other morning and downloaded this song while reading his last passage of sitting in his cafe in Bouville as the waitress, Madeleine, puts on his favorite song. Though I was told this book was rather depressing I didn’t find it to be such, but instead just more of an interesting look at life that I could relate to. Perhaps I lead a depressing life? Meh. I just like to think that I have a much more factual grasp on life and, truth be told, life is not a positive thing, but is instead a rather negative thing that we all struggle through. Cups of tea at the end of the day to make the world right in our minds. From this I have taken that as we view our lives as these dull depressing things without adventures it is ...
